- Assign daily work using standard operating procedures, monitor progress, and adjust priorities to meet production schedules, quality targets, and budget constraints. Monitor operational metrics (KPIs), such as equipment performance, wear indication, quality, and downtime to maintain levels of performance and to identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct field oversight to verify adherence to safety protocols, work instructions, and quality assurance requirements.
- Coordinate on-shift and cross‑shift communication with management, operations, quality, procurement, engineering, inventory control, shipping, etc. to maintain continuity of operations and accurate handoffs.
- Champion a strong safety culture by enforcing all safety procedures, including PPE use, lockout/tagout, pressure‑vessel safety, and hazard‑control protocols.
- Ensure technicians stop work when unsafe conditions exist and support rapid resolution of hazards.
- Oversee compliance with the Radiation Protection Program, including timely submission of required bioassay samples.
- Lead and participate in emergency response drills, including development, coordination, and evaluation of drill packages.
- Verify that work areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with industrial hygiene and safety standards
- Supervise setup and changeover of product lines to support scheduled production batches.
- Oversee adjustments to machine settings (as applicable) to maintain optimal throughput without compromising safety or quality.
- Coordinate with operations and engineering teams to address equipment issues, minimize downtime, and support introduction of new technologies or processes.

- Support budget and schedule attainment by identifying inefficiencies and recommending corrective actions.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations and organizational goals including reporting during off duty hours for site emergency responses.
- Plan, schedule, and prioritize preventive and corrective maintenance to maintain equipment reliability and support production schedules without compromising safety margins.
- Maintain strict configuration control, ensuring equipment changes, temporary modifications, and work activities align with approved drawings, procedures, and safety basis documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, nuclear safety, and environmental teams to plan maintenance activities that minimize operational risk and maintain compliance with the facility’s Integrated Safety Analysis (ISA).
- Support investigations and root‑cause analyses for equipment failures, process upsets, or maintenance‑related events, ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively.
