Job Description Summary:

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Logistics to lead the overall logistics and receiving operations supporting PV, HV, and BESS power system construction projects. This role is responsible for developing and executing the international logistics strategy, sourcing and managing logistics suppliers, and overseeing regional logistics teams to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant material delivery.
The Director of Logistics will lead a team of regionally based Logistics Managers, as well as Receiving Coordinators and Logistics Specialists. This role is accountable for high-level supplier negotiations, freight contract strategy, and the resolution of escalated logistics issues. The Director will also drive the development of logistics tools, analytics, and performance metrics to support continuous improvement and executive-level reporting.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Strategic Leadership

    • Define and lead the global logistics strategy, including international freight sourcing, supplier selection, and contract negotiation.

    • Oversee regional logistics operations through direct management of Logistics Managers and their teams.

    • Align logistics operations with procurement, supply planning, and project execution goals.

  • Supplier & Contract Management

    • Source and manage strategic logistics providers across domestic and international lanes.

    • Negotiate and award freight contracts, ensuring competitive pricing, service reliability, and compliance.

    • Establish and monitor supplier performance metrics and service-level agreements.

  • Operational Oversight

    • Manage escalations related to delivery delays, customs issues, and reverse logistics.

    • Oversee freight invoice auditing and approval processes in coordination with finance and procurement teams.

    • Ensure consistent documentation practices across regions, including ASNs, BOLs, and customs paperwork.

  • Team Leadership & Development

    • Lead and develop a high-performing logistics team, including managers, specialists, and coordinators.

    • Set departmental goals, establish best practices, and drive operational excellence.

    • Provide coaching, training, and succession planning to build team capability.

  • Analytics & Reporting

    • Develop logistics dashboards and reporting tools to monitor performance, cost, and delivery metrics.

    • Present logistics performance and strategic initiatives to executive leadership.

    • Use data-driven insights to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations, including leadership of multi-regional teams.

  • Proven experience in international logistics strategy, supplier sourcing, and contract negotiation.

  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems, logistics platforms, and analytics tools (e.g., PowerBI, Excel, Python).

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Deep understanding of freight operations, customs regulations, and logistics compliance standards.

$148,628.00 - $197,675.00
