If you are driven to create a better, more sustainable future, then this is the right place for you.

We are looking for a skilled and self-motivated Lead Hardware R&D Technician to join our innovative team. This role is perfect for a natural problem-solver who enjoys hands-on work and thrives on seeing a project through from concept to completion. You will be a key player in our workshop, responsible for fabricating, machining, and assembling custom components and systems. If you are a versatile builder who can work independently and tackle new challenges with creativity, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

* Fabricate and Machine: Perform custom fabrication using a variety of materials. Operate manual machine tools, including mills, lathes, grinders, and saws, to create precision parts from engineering drawings and sketches.

* Assemble Components: Assemble complex mechanical and electro-mechanical systems with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

* Light Electrical Work: Handle basic wiring, soldering, and assembly of electrical panels and harnesses according to schematics.

* Troubleshoot and Problem-Solve: Independently diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and assembly issues as they arise during the build process. Propose and implement effective solutions to improve designs and processes.

* Read and Interpret Plans: Work from technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics to ensure all components are built to exact specifications.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to propose and implement solutions that enhance productivity and quality.

2. Initiative Leadership

· Lead and manage strategic initiatives that align with department goals.

· Drive process improvements, pilot new approaches, and ensure successful execution of projects.

3. Space Ownership & Organization

· Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the workspace.

· Champion a culture of accountability and pride in the work environment.

4. Task Prioritization & Team Support

· Act as a liaison between management and the team to communicate priorities and expectations.

· Support daily operations by assigning tasks based on urgency, skillset, and workload.

· Monitor progress and provide guidance to ensure timely and high-quality outcomes.

5. Leadership & Mentorship

· Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and support to team members.

· Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture.

· Assist in onboarding and training new employees.

Required Qualifications & Skills

* Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. You should be able to troubleshoot issues with minimal supervision.

* A strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently and manage your time effectively to meet project deadlines.

* Basic understanding of electrical principles and wiring practices.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with TIG/MIG welding on various materials.
