Job Description

X-energy is seeking a Lead, Facilities & Administration to establish and manage operations at our new Houston office. This critical role will serve as the on-site leader for an 18,000 SF facility designed to accommodate up to 50 employees, providing comprehensive facilities management, administrative support, and safety coordination for our growing Texas presence.


Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities:

Facilities Management (Primary POC)

  • Serve as primary contact with property management and service providers
  • Manage facilities service requests through OfficeSpace software
  • Coordinate maintenance of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security)
  • Oversee janitorial services and maintain facility cleanliness standards
  • Manage badge/FOB access system and security protocols
  • Coordinate vendor relationships and facility scalability planning

Administrative Support

  • Provide administrative support to Houston-based staff and on-site Vice President
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and minutes
  • Maintain filing systems and handle general office communications
  • Assist with expense reports, local budget tracking, and calendar management

Reception & Office Services

  • Greet visitors and manage visitor logs per X-energy protocols
  • Answer and direct phone calls professionally
  • Manage shipping/receiving, mail distribution, and package handling
  • Maintain professional appearance of reception and common areas
  • Support client meetings and business development activities

Employee Onboarding / Offboarding

  • Coordinate local onboarding for new Houston employees
  • Work with IT to ensure workstations and equipment are ready for new hires' first day
  • Conduct office tours and facility orientations
  • Assist with new hire paperwork and offboarding logistics
  • Support HR policy implementation including reasonable accommodation requests

Workspace & Supply Management

  • Manage kitchen facilities, supply inventory, and equipment
  • Coordinate furniture purchases and workspace arrangements
  • Ensure workspace readiness as office scales toward 50-person capacity

  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Job Profile Minimum Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, the Sciences, or equivalent professional-level experience.
  • Typically, seven plus years of experience in facilities management or equivalent related functions.
  • 5+ years of experience in office management, facilities management, or administrative operations
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other safety and environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management.
  • Experience with procurement and contract negotiation.
  • Willingness to travel for site visits or as needed for construction and/or maintenance projects.
  • Working knowledge of and ability to use, understand, and comply with architectural drawings.
  • Proven ability to independently manage a commercial facility of 10,000+ square feet
  • Experience serving as primary POC for property management companies and vendor relationships
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and facilities management systems (OfficeSpace preferred)
  • Working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and proactive approach to issue resolution
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Professional telephone etiquette and customer service orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience supporting executive-level staff and stakeholders
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with nuclear industry safety standards and regulated environments
  • Experience with employee onboarding/offboarding coordination
  • Experience scaling office operations from small to medium-sized teams
  • Professional certifications (e.g., FMP, IFMA, CPLP)

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily desk-based work with prolonged periods of computer use and sitting
  • Ability to move throughout 18,000 SF facility multiple times daily
  • Occasional lifting and moving of items up to 30 pounds (supplies, packages, equipment)
  • Standing and walking for extended periods during facility walkthroughs and inspections
  • Visual acuity for computer work and facility inspections
  • Manual dexterity for operating office equipment and computers

Location: Houston, TX

Work Site Expectations: Onsite 5 days a week
Travel Expectations: 5%
Hours: Standard office hours are 8:00am CST to 5:00pm CST, Monday -Friday

Compensation

As required by Maryland and other applicable state law, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) lists the expected compensation range for a publicly advertised job opportunity based upon the job requirements (e.g. education/training, experience, skill sets, etc.). Individual candidates who meet the job requirements for the posted position will be offered a salary within this range based on their respective levels of education/training, experience, and other qualifications unique to them. Salary ranges may vary based on the specific office location and region referenced in the posting to take into consideration differences in cost of living and may not be reflective of all regions. Please note that compensation ranges listed for US job postings reflect base salary only and do not include benefits or other incentives.

A reasonable estimate for this position at the level of experience required is:

$74,837 - $124,729
