ACCIONA Energía, is seeking a Landowner Relationship Specialist to support operational renewable energy projects across North America. Reporting to the Landowner Manager, this role serves as the primary point of contact for landowners and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, strong relationships, and full compliance with permitting requirements. The specialist acts as a bridge between technical teams and landowners, translating complex project details into accessible information, managing land agreements and payments, and maintaining accurate records across solar, wind, and battery storage assets.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison for landowners, addressing concerns and ensuring transparent communication.

  • Coordinate relationships between landowners, neighbors, local authorities, and permitting teams for operational projects.

  • Support permitting efforts by managing notifications, stakeholder meetings, and compliance documentation.

  • Translate technical project information (e.g., site layouts, access routes, drainage changes) into clear, understandable terms.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (legal, development, construction, engineering, operations) to integrate landowner considerations.

  • Maintain detailed records of landowner communications, agreements, and compliance requirements.

  • Assist in resolving disputes, claims, or land access issues with professionalism and discretion.

  • Organize and participate in landowner meetings, site visits, and community engagement events.

  • Administer land lease contracts, payments, land use agreements, and contract modifications.

  • Ensure all permits are current and manage additional permits required for project operations.

  • Manage landowner data (leases, easements), permitting records, and GIS information in company databases.

  • Support the transition of new projects into operations by organizing the intake of landowner contracts and permits.

  • Collaborate with engineers and consultants to communicate technical details to landowners.

  • Interpret project maps, GIS data, and permit conditions as they relate to landowner properties.

  • Use SIGA, Geographical Viewer (GIS), and CGA software tools to manage contracts, permits, and spatial data.

Required Skills and Competencies

About You

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in landowner relations, real estate, permitting, or community engagement.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and professionalism in sensitive conversations.

  • Ability to interpret site plans, easement documents, and construction drawings.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM or land management software.

  • Willingness to travel regionally and to Canada (up to 25%).

  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the renewable energy industry (solar, wind, battery storage, concentrated solar).

  • Familiarity with permitting processes, utility requirements, agricultural practices, and rural land use.

  • Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish).

  • Knowledge of GIS tools (Google Earth, ArcGIS, CAD).

  • Experience managing large databases.

  • Base Pay: $75,000-$90,000 (based on experience, education, and skillset)

  • 5 to 10% Annual Performance Bonus based on individual performance and company metrics.
