Job Description
The IT Asset Management Specialist serves as the foundational layer of the Asset Control Management team within IT Support Services. Under direct supervision, this role executes core day-to-day ITAM processes across the full technology lifecycle - tracking devices, provisioning equipment, managing inventory, and supporting CLEAResult employees. The Specialist maintains accurate asset records in ServiceNow, coordinates logistics for equipment deployment and disposal, and contributes to the Knowledgebase to support a culture of self-service. This role is a key contributor to the stability and accuracy of CLEAResult's IT asset program.
Track IT assets throughout the full lifecycle - from procurement to disposal - maintaining accurate, up-to-date records in ServiceNow.
Update the asset tracking system promptly with assignment changes, location updates, and status changes.
Maintain records of hardware specifications, warranties, and service agreements for all CLEAResult assets.
Conduct scheduled and ad hoc physical and virtual inventory counts at central and distributed stockroom locations.
Ensure accurate inventory levels to support timely end-user provisioning and prevent supply gaps.
Provision hardware and software (Windows and macOS) in support of employee onboarding.
Provide move support for large-scale site events, including office openings, closures, and remodels.
Coordinate inventory and equipment disposal between CLEAResult employees, locations, and approved recycling vendors.
Respond to and resolve ServiceNow tickets, documenting all support actions and resolution steps thoroughly.
Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve basic-to-intermediate hardware and software issues via phone or remote support tools.
Guide end users in the setup and use of standard hardware, software, and network resources.
Escalate recurring issues or hardware defect patterns to senior team members with clear, well-documented findings.
Document processes and procedures related to assigned ITAM responsibilities; update documentation as workflows change.
Contribute to the CLEAResult Knowledgebase to support self-service resolution and team knowledge-sharing.
Participate in after-hours on-call and respond to critical issues, incidents, or escalations, communicating with the appropriate senior technical staff.
May travel occasionally or as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.
Working knowledge of IT asset management concepts and technology lifecycle tracking practices.
Hands-on experience with hardware provisioning, imaging, and device deployment for Windows and macOS environments.
Familiarity with IT ticketing and ITSM platforms; ServiceNow ITAM experience preferred.
Basic understanding of hardware specifications, software licensing, and warranty or service agreement management.
Strong attention to detail and a consistent commitment to maintaining accurate asset records.
Comfortable using remote support tools for end-user troubleshooting and device setup.
Awareness of ITIL methodology and foundational IT service management principles.
Awareness of AI-driven automation, chatbots, and self-service portals for ticketing and troubleshooting.
Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-first mindset for delivering reliable, professional support to CLEAResult employees. Able to communicate clearly with end users of varying technical backgrounds. Resourceful, dependable, and collaborative—escalates issues effectively and keeps stakeholders informed throughout resolution.
High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field preferred.
1–3 years of experience in IT asset management, IT operations, or a related support role.
IAITAM CAMP (Certified Asset Management Professional) or CHAMP (Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional) preferred; not required at time of hire.
ITIL Foundation or CompTIA A+ certification preferred; not required.
Remote-first work environment; occasional on-site support required for inventory events, equipment handling, and large-scale move support.
May require occasional lifting, carrying, or pushing of equipment up to 25 pounds during shipping, receiving, and inventory activities.
General office environment for on-site work; may require sitting/standing for extended periods, occasional bending or reaching, and repetitive hand motion.
