GENERAL SUMMARY
Independently formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately basic client/server, networking systems, and communication systems. Prepares detailed specifications from which IT architecture will be deployed and operated. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents; and maintains these systems. Competent to work at an expert technical level on all phases of IT architecture activities and often provides project management oversight as needed. Overtime may sometimes be required to fulfill certain project or operational obligations. This position has fluent knowledge of processes and has expert level skills pertaining to this scope. This position provides considerable mentoring to junior personnel and often supports special projects and performance reporting.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Operate and maintain system readiness including system configuration, adherence to standards, system testing, performance tune responsible systems for optimal performance, update and upgrade system in accordance with approved life-cycle schedules, projects, and budgets, system life-cycle recommendations, ensure timely upkeep of system book, disaster recovery, and software quality assurance documentation for network, server/client infrastructure, or telecommunications systems. This should include identifying architecture inefficiencies and making technical recommendations to ensure KPIs are met.
Prepare basic formal system proposals by interviewing customers, interpreting needs and objectives, forecasting proposal costs and benefits, and making recommendations as to proposal continuance. Create system conceptual design by analyzing system requirements, determining appropriate technical approaches, producing functional design overviews and making formal presentations.
Maintain a solid understanding of the customer’s business, including goals, objectives, work processes, and their end product of service.
Define and document detail systems design by developing an action plan, determining system requirements, identifying system conventions, and conferring with customer to ensure conformance to requirements. These may include systems such as: Server/Client or network or telecommunications infrastructure, plant and EP systems.
Provide technical support on systems such as client/server, networking, and other communication system infrastructure being implemented by writing system and operational documentation, conducting user training, providing production procedures, and lifecycle maintenance procedures as needed; and assisting users during the transition process.
Interface with vendor’s technical support center, search the vendor’s website, research the system architecture functionality, and learn to use the system tools to assist/coach customers in the implementation of new functions or in troubleshooting process and data problems.
Must participate on the Emergency Response team (ERO) when designated. Must support the biennial refueling outage.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
IT Architecture Analyst IV
Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a computer discipline and seven years of progressive experience in IT client/server or networking systems operations; OR an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and nine years of IT client/server or networking systems operations; OR in lieu of degree, eleven years of directly related IT progressive experience in IT client/server or networking systems operations. A high school diploma or GED is required.
IT Architecture Analyst III
Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a computer discipline and five years of progressive experience in IT client/server or networking systems operations; OR an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and seven years of IT client/server or networking systems operations; OR in lieu of degree, nine years of directly related IT progressive experience in IT client/server or networking systems operations. A high school diploma or GED is required.
IT Architecture Analyst II
Bachelor’s Degree in a computer related field from an accredited college or university plus three years’ experience; OR, an unrelated Bachelor’s Degree plus four years’ experience; OR, in lieu of degree, a High School diploma plus seven years’ experience. Experience needs to be directly related to Information Systems/Help Desk. High school diploma or GED required.
IT Architecture Analyst I
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a computer related field; OR an unrelated Bachelor’s Degree plus one year experience; OR, an AA plus three years’ experience; OR, in lieu of degree, a High School diploma plus five years’ experience. High school diploma or GED required.
Pay Range:
IT Architecture IV Salary: $122,681 - $184,021
Midpoint: $153,351
IT Architecture III Salary: $106,670 - $160,006
Midpoint: $133,338
IT Architecture II Salary: $92,750 - $139,124
Midpoint: $115,937
IT Architecture I Salary: $80,704 - $121,056
Midpoint: $100,880
Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.
Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.
Incentive Compensation
This role is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
