Intern, AI/ ML Engineer, Summer 2026
Location: Newark, CA

Role/Responsibilities:
· Own one or more technical projects related to controls software engineering from idea to completion
· Apply concepts from coursework to drive creative solutions to complex problems
· Create a CI/CD pipeline component that uses AI to scan C++ source code and automatically generate or update technical documentation
· Build and integrate solutions that help our C++ developers write, test, debug, and document code more efficiently
· Design and develop a stand-alone, internal-facing AI/ML-powered web application
· Leverage AI/ML technologies to launch new features that intelligently streamline and enhance user workflows for greater efficiency and impact
· Establish reusable code libraries and design patterns to accelerate development
· Support a Surround Surveillance Perception project, strengthening vehicle security by alerting customers of potential threats around their parked car
· Ability to work in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications:
· Ability to apply book knowledge to real-world scenarios
· Experience using C++
· Exposure to data simulation tools such as CARLA
· Embedded model deployment understanding
· Understanding and interest training deep learning and computer vision models
· Python coding and scripting for machine learning
· Ability to annotation data
· Experience with model evaluation
· Strong programming experience with a solid understanding of application development
· Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), React, Angular, Vue.js, HTML, CSS, Python, and related frameworks
· Experience with Node.js and RESTful API integration
· Python, LLMs, AI APIs, RAG, Langchain, Git
· Experience using programming languages such as Python
· CI/CD with Gitlab CI, VS Code Plugin Development, Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
· Exposure to knowledge representation techniques such as knowledge graphs
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Education:
· Field(s) of study: Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, Automotive Engineering, or related fields
· Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program at an accredited university
· Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS, PhD)
