About Base

Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.

About the Role

As the Global Supply Manager (GSM) for Logistics Strategy, you will serve as the architect of Base’s global inbound supply chain. This is a high-impact role responsible for designing and scaling a world-class logistics network that supports our rapid production growth. You will not just manage shipments; you will own the end-to-end strategic roadmap for material flow, international trade positioning, and total landed cost optimization.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global logistics strategy that optimizes speed, cost, and risk across air, ocean, and ground transportation modes.

  • Design and own global material tracking systems and SOPs while proactively monitoring inbound shipments and leading real-time escalations for in-transit risks such as customs holds, port congestion, or damage to ensure on-time delivery for production.

  • Lead the selection, onboarding, and ongoing management of logistics partners - including freight forwarders, 3PLs, and customs brokers - to support rapid scaling requirements.

  • Define and manage the international trade and compliance framework, including HS classification programs and the strategic use of trade agreements to minimize duty exposure.

  • Own the logistics budget and drive continuous improvement through data-driven analysis of shipping lanes, lead times, costs, and carrier performance.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.

  • 5+ years of experience in global supply chain management, logistics strategy, or procurement, specifically within a high-growth manufacturing or hardware environment.

  • Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable global logistics networks, including the selection and onboarding of strategic 3PL and freight partners.

  • Deep expertise in international trade law, global HS classification programs, and the strategic application of trade agreements to optimize landed costs.

  • Proficiency in data visualization tools for supply chain modeling, alongside extensive experience managing logistics modules within ERP/MRP systems, proficiency in SQL preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex, multi-year service level agreements (SLAs) with global carriers and influence senior stakeholders on supply chain risk mitigation.

  • A strong alignment with Base’s core values—specifically the ability to question industry assumptions and operate at "Base Pace" to solve complex infrastructure challenges.

Our Values
