Job Summary:
As a Financial Reporting Accountant within Repsol’s U.S. Renewable Energy division, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting that aligns with both U.S. GAAP and IFRS. You will support the financial close process, regulatory filings, and internal reporting for renewable energy assets including wind, solar, and battery storage projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements for renewable energy operations in the U.S.
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
Coordinate with Repsol’s headquarters to align reporting timelines and financial disclosures.
Participate in audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Maintain documentation for internal controls.
Review vendor invoices for accuracy and proper coding.
Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments to ensure timely resolution.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification is a plus).
2–3 years of experience in financial reporting or public accounting, ideally within the energy or infrastructure sectors.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and financial consolidation tools.
Advanced proficiency in Excel
Excellent communication skills and ability to work across international teams.
Fluent in English; Spanish fluency is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in renewable energy accounting (e.g., PPA structures, tax equity, asset depreciation).
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks affecting renewable energy (e.g., FERC, IRS incentives).
Familiarity with ESG reporting and sustainability metrics.
