Job Description:

Manager – Corporate Accounting role that combines team leadership, technical accounting expertise, financial close ownership, compliance, and process improvement experience. The position is responsible for overseeing and developing a team of accountants, ensuring accurate and timely period close activities, reviewing reconciliations and journal entries, supporting audit queries, and maintaining compliance with internal controls, SOX, and regulatory requirements.

The role also requires strong understanding of end-to-end accounting processes, including how different transactions impact one another, with specific knowledge of intercompany transactions, warranty provisions, lease accounting, US GAAP, and ASC 606. In addition to managing day-to-day accounting deliverables, the position is expected to support transformation initiatives and continuous improvement projects aimed at improving accounting processes, systems, efficiency, and controls. Experience or knowledge of applying AI in Finance is considered an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee, support, and develop a team of accountants, fostering an environment of trust, productivity, and continuous learning.
  • Expertise in the subject matter of your team, understanding end to end processes and how they fit together and the ability to identify when different transactions/processes impact each other
  • Ensure that the period close activities within their areas of responsibility are executed seamlessly, contributing to the completeness, accuracy, and validity of financial statements.
  • Assisting/Liaising with Auditors to resolve queries/request.
  • Review balance sheet account reconciliations, journal entries, and other ad-hoc reports to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing accounting processes, efficiency, and control.
  • Plan and execute work allocation for the accounting team, continuously monitoring progress to ensure timely and accurate completion of deliverables.
  • Provide active support and contribute to transformation projects, particularly those impacting accounting processes and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX, and other regulatory requirements regarding master data in accordance with US GAAP.

What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence?

  • Demonstrated strong understanding and application of accounting principles and practices.
  • 8+ years of experience in Finance & Accounting
  • Experience managing and leading a team of accountants
  • CPA, Qualified Chartered Accountant (Preferred) or master’s degree in finance & accounting
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, as well as possessing strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge and skill with Excel and the ability to automate tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Good understanding of Lease Accounting, Warranty and Equity
  • Good understanding of accounting standards and US GAAP especially ASC 606
  • A good knowledge/ implementation experience of AI into Finance will be an added advantage
  • Strong understanding of financial statement components and the ability to deep dive to the detail level to understand underlying transactions within their areas of responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of SAP Fiori, FloQast, Lease Query and Workiva is an added advantage.
