Job Summary:
The Field Controls Integration Engineer is a member of the Commercial Team which works closely with customers to start up and maintain WaterFurnace equipment at customer sites. The candidate will coordinate, plan, execute start-up’s with key customer partners and field technicians. Additionally, the candidate will coordinate with building control engineers to validate proper coordination and proper operation of WaterFurnace equipment within multiple building applications. The selected individual should have technical expertise in design, development, and debugging of system and/or building automation controls.
This position may require travel up to 50%.
Install and start-up HVAC system level controls and coordinate with customer/site level building automation systems to start-up and service WaterFurnace heat pumps and chillers.
- Position includes servicing and start-up on water-to-water heat pumps, air to water chillers, water to air heat pumps, DOAS systems, and rooftop units.
- Collaborate with R&D and applications engineering teams to define customer requirements and controls enhancements.
- Visual programming for HVAC controls in Niagara N4 and Automated Logic (ALC) platforms.
- Provide customer and product support on new orders, pre-installation, installation, and building commissioning efforts.
- Assist in project planning by providing work estimates for various projects.
- Assist in system level definition around application and coordination with customer BAS / Control systems.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Five or more years’ experience in building automation or chiller/heat pump equipment start-ups.
- Five or more years visual programming experience using Niagara, Automated Logic (ALC) or similar coding platforms.
- Strong coding skills and methodologies
- Basic knowledge of GIT software documentation control.
- Understanding of machine/system control
- Good communication skills with the ability to work in both a team environment and independently
- Self-starter
- Detail-oriented
- Familiarity with various communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, BACnet IP, as well as RS485 infrastructure.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or experience in related field preferred
- HVAC experience and knowledge is a plus
- Niagara 4 Certification a plus
- ALC Certification a plus
