Job Description Summary:
As part of the Environmental Compliance Team, the Environmental Compliance Manager will mentor and train field operations and engineering personnel on applicable environmental regulations and best practices to minimize liability and prevent regulatory fines. This role will ensure compliance with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) training requirements by scheduling and conducting site-specific trainings. The manager will maintain training records, manage data, and prepare reports or other relevant documentation as requested. Trainings will cover compliance with environmental permits, civil engineering plans, and the SOLV Energy National Environmental Compliance Program. The position may be based in the Midwest, South, or Western United States.Job Description:

Develop, deliver and training programs on environmental compliance for leadership and field operations teams.
Manage training data, develop reports and coordinate trainings with Senior Environmental Compliance Manager.
Educate teams on project-specific Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) requirements and state-specific NPDES permit requirements.
Train teams on proper installation, maintenance, and repair of Best Management Practices (BMPs) as per state regulations.
Educate teams on Endangered Species Act, Bald/Golden Eagle Protection Act, Migratory Bird Treaty Act, Cultural Resources, Inadvertent Returns, Invasive Species, and more.
Ensure all training aligns with SOLV Energy National Environmental Compliance Program and owner contract requirements.
Be an active resource to be able to provide proactive recommendations for corrective actions in areas needing frequent maintenance, erosion control, or regulatory attention.
Mentor Safety/SWPPP Representatives, Field Stormwater Technician, Environmental Compliance Managers, Senior Environmental Compliance Managers and field leadership through on-site training, Teams trainings, and more.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Ability to travel up to 20-30% to SOLV Energy projects throughout the United States.
Background in Stormwater Compliance, Environmental Project Management, Environmental Science or related fields.
A minimum of 3 yearsβ experience as a lead environmental compliance inspector or other related field of responsibility is required.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to conveying technical information, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and delivering impactful training are required.
Certifications such as CPESC, CESSWI, CISEC, QCIS, or equivalent environmental compliance certification are required
Experience working with diverse teams on construction sites.
Strong knowledge of federal and state regulatory processes and stormwater programs.
Ability to read and interpret civil plans and specifications.
Effective communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook and Teams), Bluebeam Revu, and the ability to quickly learn enterprise platforms such as Workday and Sunscreen software is required.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate a high level of initiative and autonomy, with the ability to proactively identify, research, and interpret environmental and regulatory issues without direct supervision.
Occasional climbing, carrying, and working near moving mechanical parts or in high exposed places.
Tolerance for exposure to dust, dirt, pollen, equipment exhaust, and airborne particulates.
Ability to work in varying weather conditions and temperatures.
Medium to high noise levels on construction sites.
Visual and auditory acuity to hear safety warnings.
Ability to ascend and descend terrain for site feature.
Must be able to deliver training sessions in various environments including construction trailers, virtual platforms, and company office settings, adapting to the physical and technical demands of each location.
