Job Description

We are looking for a talented individual…

To join our team as an Energy Engineer II. You will support the design and delivery of commercial and industrial energy‑efficiency programs through engineering analysis, technical guidance, and high‑quality project execution. In this role, you will develop energy‑savings calculations, perform building simulations, create IPMVP‑compliant M&V plans, and contribute to program design and implementation. You will analyze data, recommend energy‑saving strategies, maintain technical documentation, and ensure quality control across projects. This position also supports business development by developing measure assumptions, tools, and technical materials, while engaging with clients and internal teams to communicate findings and drive successful program outcomes.

Note: While this job is primarily remote, it does require occasional travel to Commercial & Industrial sites and team office meetings.

You’re a great fit if you can…

  • Calculate project energy savings using standard engineering methods (physics, mechanics, thermodynamics, fan laws, algebra, statistics).

  • Apply engineering principles to support program delivery.

  • Conduct ASHRAE Level II audits with guidance.

  • Develop IPMVP‑compliant M&V plans and reports with technical oversight.

  • Build measure assumptions for program planning and business development efforts.

  • Create program tools and calculators with technical oversight.

  • Provide design recommendations for prescriptive projects and develop related training materials.

  • Analyze logger data and utility consumption data.

  • Review regulatory filings, commission documents, and evaluator reports for technical accuracy and communicate findings to senior engineers and program staff.

Exciting candidates will have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Energy or Mechanical preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of engineering experience, ideally in Energy or Mechanical fields.

  • Commercial or industrial sector experience strongly preferred.

  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.

  • Ability to successfully pass a background check.

  • Must reside in the Frederick area or commutable distance.
