We are looking for an Electrical Utility Control Center Supervisor!
This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of a key area within our electrical distribution system. The supervisor provides hands-on guidance, fosters team development, and ensures operational excellence. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in high-stakes environments and is passionate about mentoring others and delivering exceptional service.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead real-time decision-making during outages and emergencies, coordinating with internal teams to restore service quickly and safely.
Create a positive, customer-focused work environment that emphasizes responsiveness and accountability.
Build a strong, safety-first culture that encourages professional growth and continuous improvement.
Develop and implement emergency response strategies for critical events, including natural disasters and system failures.
Manage daily and long-term work planning, ensuring alignment with company goals and operational needs.
Provide clear direction to staff, review performance data, and engage in hands-on support when needed.
Supervise after-hours operations through the Service Dispatch office, acting as the companyβs representative to customers.
Partner with Customer Service to ensure consistent communication and service delivery.
Contribute to budget planning and control, ensuring efficient use of resources.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent
At least five (5) years of relevant experience
Strong computer and spreadsheet skills
Availability for 24/7 shift coverage
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Post-secondary or technical training in a related field
Prior leadership experience, especially with unionized teams
Strong communication and coaching skills
Deep understanding of electric utility operations and emergency response
Familiarity with field roles such as linemen, dispatchers, and system operators
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Access
Independent, proactive, and collaborative work style
