Overview
Scout Motors is redefining the all-electric pick-up truck and rugged SUV marketplace. As Director of Vehicle Protection Products, you will lead the development, integration, and marketing of Scout’s full suite of retail finance and insurance products. This role is critical to delivering a seamless, customer-centric experience across digital and retail channels.
What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
Product Development & Launch Readiness
- Design and implement a comprehensive suite of vehicle protection and insurance products tailored to Scout vehicle owners that delivers on the Scout customer promise
- Oversee regulatory compliance and licensing requirements across US and Canadian markets, ensuring legal, profitable, and sustainable operations
- Develop and execute a roadmap for product readiness, including systems, training, and partner support
Strategic Leadership & Partner Management
- Lead selection and onboarding of partners for vehicle insurance, extended warranty, GAP, pre-paid maintenance service, and other protection products
- Negotiate contracts and partnership terms, ensuring alignment with the Scout brand and desired customer experience
- Maintain strong relationships with external providers and internal stakeholders to ensure operational excellence, evaluating performance through a regular business review cycle and constant KPI monitoring
Digital Integration & Operations
- Collaborate with Scout Motors Digital Products, IT, Sales Operations, and Retail Operations teams to define user needs and system requirements for quoting, contracting, and presenting products
- Ensure seamless integration of F&I and insurance products into the Scout Motors digital retail platform and checkout process
- Establish operational mechanisms for offer creation, tracking, reconciliation, and reporting
Marketing & Customer Engagement
- Lead development and execution of marketing strategies for vehicle protection and insurance products
- Collaborate with the Brand and Communications teams to ensure clear communication and alignment with the Scout brand and identity
- Partner with the Marketing team on creative development and messaging for product launches, promotions, and lifecycle communications
Performance & Competitiveness Monitoring
- Work with the Sales Operations team to analyze market competitiveness and optimize pricing and bundling strategies, all with the objective of maximizing offer attractiveness, share, and profitability
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools to track key metrics, including product penetration, revenue contribution, loyalty, and customer satisfaction
- Translate market feedback into actionable insights to sharpen the Scout product offering and competitive position
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role will be based out of the future Scout Motors corporate headquarters, which is anticipated to be identified in 2025. This role may be remote to start but will transition to an in-office setting at the headquarters after the location is determined. This role is not eligible for remote work in New York City.
- The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field. Master’s degree a plus
- 10+ years of experience in automotive F&I products
- 3+ years of experience in vehicle insurance
- Extensive exposure and management responsibility in automotive sales, marketing, and partner management
Skills & Attributes
- Deep understanding of the automotive F&I and vehicle insurance landscape
- Proven ability to build programs from scratch and drive cross-functional alignment
- Strong analytical mindset with fluency in data tools and performance metrics
- Experience leading high-performing teams and cultivating a collaborative culture
- Strategic thinker with excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to navigate organizational complexity and influence senior leadership

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $180,000.00 - $220,000.00
