Job Description
Nextracker is seeking an experienced Director, Supply Chain Innovation & Business Development International, reporting under the Supply Chain SVP. This leader will be responsible for driving transformative initiatives across the global supply chain organization and bring bandwidth and speed to strategic studies, the deployment of innovative supply chain solutions, and the development of new business opportunities. The role will serve as a critical partner to the Global SVP of Supply Chain in shaping long-term strategic direction, enabling growth, and ensuring sustainable competitive advantage.
The ideal candidate will combine deep supply chain expertise with strong business acumen, strategic foresight, and the ability to evaluate and execute new opportunities—including M&A, innovation pilots, and the creation of new profitable business lines.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Innovation & Business Development
Lead strategic assessments and ROI analyses for supply chain innovation initiatives and business development opportunities.
Identify and evaluate potential M&A opportunities, prepare business cases, and support due diligence and post-merger integration activities.
Scout and develop new business lines, partnerships, and supply chain–related growth opportunities.
Partner with senior leadership to develop frameworks for innovation deployment across manufacturing, make or buy, sourcing, operations, logistics, sustainability, and packaging.
Innovation Deployment & Program Leadership
Drive the execution of innovation projects in supply chain processes, technologies, and business models.
Act as program leader for cross-functional innovation pilots, ensuring alignment with company strategy and measurable business impact.
Monitor emerging technologies, market trends, and competitive landscapes to proactively identify disruption opportunities and risks.
Business Case Development & ROI Tracking
Build robust financial models and business plans to evaluate innovation and business development initiatives.
Develop ROI tracking mechanisms to measure the success and scalability of pilots and projects.
Present insights and recommendations to executive leadership and the board when required.
M&A and Strategic Partnerships
Represent Supply Chain for corporate driven M&A due diligences and integration efforts.
Support the identification, evaluation, and negotiation of strategic acquisitions, partnerships, and joint ventures.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to conduct due diligence and integration planning.
Ensure supply chain considerations are fully embedded in M&A strategy and execution.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Strategic Supply Chain (sourcing, supplier development, NPI), Supply Chain Operations (S&OP, planning, procurement, logistics, trade compliance, packaging), and Sustainability teams to embed innovation and new business models into operations.
Act as a thought leader and change agent, fostering a culture of innovation and agility within the global supply chain organization.
Required Qualifications & Experience
10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, strategy consulting, or business development, with strong exposure to innovation initiatives.
Strong financial acumen and experience in building ROI models and business plans.
Ability to connect supply chain strategies with broader business growth opportunities.
Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional, global initiatives with measurable outcomes.
Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively to senior leadership, investors, and external stakeholders.
Experience in sustainability and supply chain innovation technologies preferred.
MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred. Strong analytical mindset, creativity, and effective communication abilities.
High level of autonomy and accountability for results.
