Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced QA Leader to define, build, and own the quality strategy for our energy storage software platforms. This role sits at the intersection of software quality, automation architecture, and complex control systems. You will drive test strategy across distributed systems, cloud services, hardware integrations, and field deployments—ensuring reliability, scalability, and safety at every layer. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who enjoys designing robust test strategy, architectures, mentoring teams, and solving hard system-level problems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Strategy & Governance

  • Define and own the enterprise-wide software quality vision and roadmap.
  • Establish quality standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Drive “shift-left” and “quality-by-design” initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards where applicable.

2. Test Engineering & Automation

  • Lead automation strategy across UI, API, integration, and performance testing.
  • Expand CI/CD quality gates and continuous testing.
  • Optimize test coverage, execution time, and reliability.
  • Drive adoption of modern test frameworks and tools.

3. Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, mentor, and manage high-performing QA and test engineering teams.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, learning, and innovation.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and DevOps leaders.

4. Delivery & Release Excellence

  • Ensure release readiness and production stability.
  • Lead defect prevention, root cause analysis, and improvement programs.
  • Oversee UAT, system testing, and certification processes.
  • Reduce escape defects and improve release predictability.

5. Process Improvement

  • Continuously improve SDLC and STLC processes.
  • Drive Agile, DevOps, and Continuous Delivery maturity.
  • Implement risk-based testing approaches.
  • Improve test environment and data management.

6. Metrics & Reporting

  • Define and track quality KPIs and OKRs.
  • Present quality insights to executive leadership.
  • Drive data-driven decision making.
  • Monitor trends in defects, coverage, and customer issues.

7. Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Support, and Operations teams.
  • Align quality goals with business priorities.
  • Support customer escalations and critical incidents.
  • Represent quality in leadership forums.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or equivalent.
  • Minimum 18+ years’ experience in software/systems test and development
  • Held Senior Engineering Manager, Director or Equivalent role for a minimum of 5+ years.
  • Technologies: Control systems, Enterprise, Web, Mobile, API, AWS, MS Azure. etc,
  • Selenium, Katalon, Typescript or any other Automation tools.
  • Exposure of working with multi-site, multi-culturally diverse organization
  • Strong technical and industrial/building/power automation domain skills with emphasis in the areas of software development, verification processes and certifications.
  • Experience in building test automation using different frameworks and improving test cycle time.
  • Experience with Power Systems, BESS, Automation (industrial/Building) domains.
  • Experience with new AI technologies like Agentic AI building for SW testing
  • Experience with preparation and execution of project plans, schedules, cost estimates, baseline change management, risk mitigation, technical design reviews, management reviews, customer coordination meetings, cost/schedule/status reporting.
  • Experience leading multi-functional engineering teams within a global matrix organization. Self-initiative to reach out to team and form effective working relationships
  • Experience in driving changes through an organization
  • A good people leader, quick to identify people’s problems, fosters teamwork and ensures transparency and fairness in all actions
  • Strong Influencing skills to drive improvements strategy.
  • Engineering, Architecture knowledge of products /solution in short cycle business, building automation portfolio will be a plus.
  • Working level knowledge on AGILE/SAFE implementation.
