What The Role Is

This position reports to the VP, Operations and will be located in our Scottsdale, AZ office. The Director, Real-Time Operations oversees the remote control and monitoring of power generation assets across the operating fleet. This position has oversight and supervision to the Operations Specialists and Operations Leads. Operating out of the Clearway Renewable Performance Monitoring Center, the Remote Operations team monitors and controls ~10 GW of utility scale renewable energy and BESS facilities.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop long-term plan to include staffing plan, technology roadmap, training needs, and process needs
  • Develop and oversee Control Center Training Program
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of the Operations Specialist progression plan
  • Develop, update, and maintain processes and procedures for the RPMC and fleet
  • Determine technology needs to drive efficiency and quality within the operations specialist’s tasks
  • Develop measurable goals by position for the team to drive performance to
  • Mentor and develop all personnel reporting into the RPMC
  • Manage a culture of openness, transparency, and accountability through leading by example
  • Ensure compliant operations to environmental, operational, and cyber compliance requirements

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline. Relevant experience in electrical & power generation would be considered in lieu of education.
  • 8+ years experience in Control Center Operations
  • Previous Control Center/Dispatch experience preferred
  • NERC Certification preferred, required within 12 months of hire if not obtained
  • Proficiency of plant and electrical system designs, relevant software systems (generation mgt. systems, SCADA, etc.)
  • Knowledge in NERC, ERCOT, WECC, CAISO, PJM, and SPP regulations and requirements
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities and ensure safety, compliance, quality and schedule adherence
  • Ability to take direction, identify problems, analyze root cause, and develop solutions in collaboration with others
  • Ability to work well with others during stressful situations
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment that emphasizes attention to detail, meeting deadlines and working together to achieve company-wide goals
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, PowerPoint and Word

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.

Salary Range Across all U.S. Locations
$180,000$225,000 USD
