Director of Manufacturing Configuration Management (India)

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Director of Manufacturing Configuration Management is responsible for governing and ensuring the integrity of all production configurations across Fluence manufacturing operations. This role focuses exclusively on production configuration management and production-level changes, ensuring that released products are built to the correct, approved configuration with full traceability, compliance, and quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own enterprise governance for production configuration management across global manufacturing operations.
• Define and maintain standards for MBOMs, routings, procurement, and production effectivity.
• Lead governance for production configuration changes including Change Orders, Deviations, AVL alignment and temporary replacement components.
• Ensure alignment between released engineering/sales configurations and production execution.
• Prevent configuration drift across PLM, ERP, and MES systems.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Digital teams to ensure production stability.
• Define and track KPIs related to configuration accuracy, production quality, and audit readiness.
• Lead and develop a global or multi-site configuration management tools and organization.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 12+ years of experience in manufacturing or operations environments.
• 5+ years in senior leadership roles with enterprise or multi-site scope.
• Demonstrated experience owning manufacturing configuration management and production change control.
• Strong understanding of MBOMs, effectivity, and manufacturing systems (PLM, ERP, MES).

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

• Experience operating in regulated or highly controlled manufacturing environments.
• Strong executive communication and cross-functional influence skills.
• Proven ability to build scalable governance and operational processes.
• Change leadership and continuous improvement mindset.
