Job Description Summary:
We are seeking a senior, strategic, and technically fluent Director of Financial
Management Systems to join our Finance organization. This role will serve as the
internal product owner and strategic lead for our enterprise FP&A and financial systems platform — owning the technology, data, and processes that power planning, reporting, and financial decision-making across the company.
The ideal candidate brings deep FP&A systems expertise, proven people leadership, and the ability to bridge Finance, IT, and vendor partners in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
This role is fully remote. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.
Job Description:
*This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
- Own the multi-year platform roadmap for the FP&A and financial systems landscape, aligned to Finance transformation priorities and business needs
- Ensure the availability, performance, and data integrity of core financial systems including planning, consolidation, and reporting applications
- Oversee change management and release governance across development, test, and production environments; maintain SOX controls compliance for system access and configuration changes
- Partner with Accounting and FP&A to maintain and evolve planning models, driver logic, hierarchies, and allocation methodologies in support of budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning cycles
- Oversee the development and maintenance of financial reports, dashboards, and management packages for senior leadership and the board
- Lead, develop, and grow a team of systems analysts, model builders, and data engineers; set clear goals, manage performance, and provide regular coaching and feedback to support individual growth and team effectiveness
- Own team hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning; identify skill gaps and build team capabilities to reduce reliance on external consultants over time
- Prioritize and manage the team’s project backlog and day-to-day workload across competing requests from FP&A, Accounting, and business units; ensure appropriate capacity for both run-the-business and strategic initiatives
- Foster a team culture of continuous improvement, documentation, and Accounting/Finance-first service delivery; establish team standards, best practices, and operating rhythms that scale with business growth
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Finance stakeholders across FP&A, Accounting, and business units on systems matters; translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Own the platform vendor relationship, including renewals, escalations, and roadmap alignment; evaluate new features and capabilities to inform investment decisions
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field (MBA or CPA a plus)
- 8+ years of experience in FP&A systems, financial planning technology, or EPM/CPM platforms; 3+ years in a people management or team leadership role
- Deep hands-on experience with one or more leading FP&A platforms (e.g.,
Anaplan, Adaptive Planning, OneStream, Planful, or Oracle EPM)
- Strong understanding of FP&A processes: budgeting, forecasting, long-range
planning, management reporting, and close cycles
- Experience managing data integrations between financial systems and ERP
platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday)
- Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and change management controls in a financial systems context
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills — able to
translate effectively between Finance, IT, and vendor partners
- Experience in a public company or multinational environment preferred
- Proven ability to lead or play a senior role in an EPM implementation or major re-platforming effort
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.
