Position Overview
Invenergy is seeking a Director of Enterprise Data Architecture to lead the design, implementation, and governance of the company’s enterprise-wide data architecture. This role sits in the front office of IT, partnering closely with technology, business, and operations teams while ensuring that the back-end data environment—storage, pipelines, cost-effective access, and governance—is optimized for scalability, performance, and value creation. The Director will serve as a strategic thought leader and hands-on practitioner, aligning Invenergy’s enterprise data strategy with business needs, driving cloud adoption, and ensuring robust data governance across the organization.
Responsibilities
Enterprise Data Strategy & Architecture
Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture vision, roadmaps, and reference models.
Ensure scalable, secure, and cost-optimized data storage, access, and processing architectures across on-prem and cloud platforms.
Partner within IT and business leaders to align architecture decisions with analytics, reporting, and AI/ML needs.
Data Engineering & Pipelines
Oversee the design and delivery of enterprise-grade data pipelines (batch and real-time) for ingestion, transformation, and consumption.
Establish best practices for metadata management, lineage tracking, and performance optimization.
Evaluate and implement modern data technologies (streaming, orchestration, API integration).
Governance & Compliance
Drive the adoption of enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Champion data stewardship and quality initiatives in partnership with business and data governance leaders.
Cost Optimization & Operations
Implement cost-effective data management strategies, including cloud cost governance and resource optimization.
Establish monitoring and optimization processes for data infrastructure performance and spend.
Partner with Finance and Procurement to evaluate data platform contracts and usage.
Leadership & Collaboration
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of data architects and engineers.
Act as a bridge between IT front-office leadership and back-end teams, ensuring alignment of business needs with technical delivery.
Influence cross-functional stakeholders on the value of enterprise data assets and architecture.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
10+ years of professional experience in quantitative analysis, data modeling, reporting, relational database tools, data warehousing, and database architecture.
3+ years in the Microsoft BI stack including SSIS and ADF.
Expertise in data warehousing concepts and relational data models.
Experience with commercial ETL platforms and in-depth knowledge data transformation and data pipelines.
Strong understanding of data ingestion design, data modeling patterns, and multiple data modeling techniques.
Strong understanding of SDLC best practices with an emphasis on DW/BI practices.
Significant, demonstrated experience with development and support of mission-critical BI/data analytics applications in both large and high growth organizations.
Must be forward and strategic thinking, with a strong passion for evaluating emerging technologies along with a demonstrated history of technology and process innovation.
Experience innovating with cloud-first technologies.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated problem solving, decision making, and leadership skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong cognitive ability.
Demonstrated ability to organize information, manage tasks and projects to support business needs.

Base Pay
$175,000.00 - $220,000.00 USD Annual
Bonus: 30% - 40%
The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
