About The Role
Director, Energy Markets Strategy is needed to perform the following duties:

Responsibilties- Develop and implement Solar Landscape’s new markets strategy, including long-term growth objectives, market positioning, and prioritization vs. existing markets and priorities.
- Drive analysis of opportunities to expand into new markets beyond existing front-of-meter solar programs.
- Continuously monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure Solar Landscape is pursuing the most attractive opportunities.
- Serve as Solar Landscape’s in-house expert on technical issues relevant to new markets and product expansion, and to policy more broadly, including interconnection and grid infrastructure, battery storage, and power pricing.
- Leverage technical expertise to drive negotiations with utilities, hyperscalers, and other stakeholders and demonstrate Solar Landscape’s understanding of the issues important to them.
- Analyze regional and national energy markets, grid interconnection rules, and renewable energy incentive programs to identify opportunities for solar deployment.
- Develop strategies for integrating large-scale solar projects into wholesale and retail electricity markets.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local energy regulations, utility interconnection requirements, and renewable portfolio standards.
- Prepare and submit technical reports and regulatory filings to utility commissions and energy market operators.
- Lead negotiations with utilities, regulators, and energy offtakers for power purchase agreements (PPAs), renewable energy credit (REC) trading, and grid services.
- Provide technical expertise to support business development, financial modeling, and long-term energy market forecasts.
- Monitor advancements in solar technology, energy storage, and grid integration to guide company strategy and maintain competitive advantage.
- Work closely with the policy team to gather and assess relevant inputs on the policy landscape across markets of interest.
- Actively scan the market (e.g., utility tariffs, legislation, secular trends) for opportunities to enter new markets beyond existing FTM programs.
- Identify policy changes that could unlock new markets and work with the policy team to assess lobbying viability.
- Provide inputs for the financial analysis of new markets, including both existing front-of-meter programs and other emerging opportunities.
- Support end-to-end execution of new market entry, from upfront research and viability assessment to identifying strong leads and targets, to developing analyses and pitch materials to close deals.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to gather critical inputs needed to successfully enter new markets.
- Regularly report on project status, milestones, and key performance indicators to executive leadership.
- Act as a lead representative in discussions with potential external partners.
- Represent Solar Landscape at industry conferences and other events to build relationships and identify opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships that support efficient market entry.
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree is required in Energy Engineering or Electrical Engineering
