Job Description

Position Overview

The Data Scientist, Operations Engineering plays a critical role in delivering operational intelligence across a large fleet of solar and battery storage projects. This role leverages advanced statistical methods and modeling techniques to analyze large-scale datasets, uncover performance trends, and generate actionable insights that enhance project efficiency and reliability.

Core Responsibilities

  • Analyze large-scale operational data from solar and battery storage assets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for performance improvement.

  • Develop and deploy predictive models to support proactive maintenance, fault detection, and system optimization.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including performance engineering, asset management, and data analysts to translate insights into impactful solutions.

  • Design and implement dashboards and visualizations to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Continuously improve analytical methodologies and tools to enhance data-driven decision-making.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science or related discipline, or 2+ years of work experience in Data Science position

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL

  • Experience finding insight from structured and unstructured data sets

  • Excellent understanding of machine learning and AI techniques and algorithms

  • Experience deploying large scale models to production including monitoring capabilities and methods for continuous improvement

  • Strong communication and visualization skills

  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with time series data within the PI software suite

  • Familiarity with data science cloud platforms including Azure ML or Databricks

  • Proficiency with BI visualization tools, such as Power BI

  • Familiarity with cloud-based data storage

  • Experience working in CI/CD workflows

  • Familiar with solar or storage energy industry

Base Pay

$80,000 – $100,000 USD Annual
Bonus: 0% - 15%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.

In addition to base pay, the total annual compensation package may also include eligibility to participate in our bonus program(s) which are designed to reward individual and company performance. Your recruiter can share more about bonus eligibility for this position during the hiring process.
