Job Description

This role is responsible for supporting Quality Assurance management with defining and implementing processes and capabilities of the Corrective Action Program (CAP) with a focus on reducing occurrence and promoting a nuclear safety culture. The position may directly manage staff.


Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of the administration of the CAP adhering to defined processes, procedures, and industry standards.
  • May manage staff by ensuring they are meeting expectations and promoting professional development.
  • Support Quality Assurance management with identifying the training needs of the organization related to key aspects of the CAP.
  • Lead the strategic development of key metrics to track effectiveness of the CAP (i.e. aging CRs, closure of CRs, length of screening process) and develop processes by which the data trends are addressed through continuous improvement.
  • Write procedures and guides for the CAP that comply with standards such as AS9100, NQA-1, ASME III, ASME VIII, CSA N286-12, CSA N299.1-16, and ISO 9001.
  • Interface regularly with all levels of the company, from Executive VPs and the Chief Nuclear Officer to administrative staff to answer questions and provide support and guidance as needed.
  • Identify problems and collaborate with senior management to develop effective solutions for cross-functional projects and processes.
  • Collaborate to charter the development, implementation; and lead the on-going execution of the Operating Experience & Lessons Learned program.
  • Drive the Root Cause Analysis process tailored to meet the diverse needs and requirements of various divisions.
  • Collaborate to charter the development, implementation of a Non-conformance Reporting program and subsequent Supplier Corrective Action process including trending and analysis.
  • Lead the development of improvements to the X-energy approved CAP system.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Job Profile Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from an accredited university or college.
  • Typically, seven plus years’ experience in relevant role such as quality assurance, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, or operations in a nuclear environment required.
    • Previous experience at X-energy exceeding performance standards may be in lieu of years of experience.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or ASME NQA-1.
  • Knowledge of the application of corrective actions and nonconformance reporting and closure processes.
  • Knowledge of Cause Evaluation quality training (e.g., TapRoot, Kepner-Tregoe).
  • Experience establishing, monitoring, and analyzing data and trends and reporting results to management.

Location: Rockville, MD

Work Site Expectations: Remote/Onsite for local candidates
Travel Expectations: 5%, as needed
Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm, Mon-Fri

Compensation

Individual candidates who meet the job requirements for the posted position will be offered a salary within this range based on their respective levels of education/training, experience, and other qualifications unique to them. Salary ranges may vary based on the specific office location and region referenced in the posting to take into consideration differences in cost of living and may not be reflective of all regions. Please note that compensation ranges listed for US job postings reflect base salary only and do not include benefits or other incentives.

A reasonable estimate for this position at the level of experience required is:

$107,475 - $179,125
