Job Description

The position is responsible for establishing and overseeing the policies, processes, and systems that govern the creation, control, use, and retention of critical information assets. This role ensures that engineering, technical, and operational documentation is accurate, secure, and compliant with applicable regulatory standards (NRC, DOE, ISO, NQA-1). This role leads the integration of Configuration Management, Document Control, Records Management, and Technical Writing to maintain alignment between physical assets, digital records, and organizational knowledge.


Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities

  • Configuration Management
    • Develop and maintain Configuration Management (CM) processes to ensure accurate control of design baselines, technical changes, and engineering documentation.
    • Manage configuration items (CIs) across physical assets, software systems, and associated documentation.
    • Ensure traceability and alignment of changes to regulatory and engineering requirements.
  • Document Control & Records Management
    • Establish document control procedures governing creation, approval, revision, distribution, retention, and archival of controlled documents.
    • Oversee records management program to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate retention requirements.
    • Administer electronic document and records management systems (EDRMS/ALIM).
    • Audit documentation processes for compliance with NQA-1, NRC, DOE, and ISO standards.
  • Technical & Procedure Writing
    • Lead the development and maintenance of technical manuals, procedures, and controlled work instructions.
    • Standardize templates and style guides to ensure consistency, clarity, and compliance across all departments.
    • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure procedures support safe and efficient execution of work.
  • Governance & Compliance
    • Define and enforce information governance policies ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and regulatory compliance.
    • Partner with IT and Cybersecurity to align information governance with data security and privacy requirements.
    • Lead training programs on document control, recordkeeping, and configuration practices for staff.
  • Leadership & Management
    • Manage and develop a team of document control specialists, records analysts, and technical writers.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and IT.
    • Provide regular reporting and performance metrics on document and configuration management effectiveness.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Job Profile Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Typically ten plus years of experience in document control, records management, or configuration management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing EDRMS, PLM, or ALIM systems (e.g., Bentley AssetWise, SharePoint, Documentum).

Location: 151 Lafayette Drive, Suite 300, Oak Ridge, TN

Work Site Expectations: 5 days a week in office

Travel: 10%

Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm, Mon-Fri

Compensation

As required by Maryland and other applicable state law, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) lists the expected compensation range for a publicly advertised job opportunity based upon the job requirements (e.g. education/training, experience, skill sets, etc.). Individual candidates who meet the job requirements for the posted position will be offered a salary within this range based on their respective levels of education/training, experience, and other qualifications unique to them. Salary ranges may vary based on the specific office location and region referenced in the posting to take into consideration differences in cost of living and may not be reflective of all regions. Please note that compensation ranges listed for US job postings reflect base salary only and do not include benefits or other incentives.

A reasonable estimate for this position at the level of experience required is:

$94,725- $157,875
