Position Summary
The Compliance Analyst supports Deriva Energy’s efforts to maintain compliance with applicable NERC Standards. This role works closely with the Generation Compliance team and internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to help review documentation, maintain compliance records, and support ongoing monitoring of compliance activities. The Compliance Analyst will assist with evidence collection, documentation updates, and audit preparation while gaining familiarity with NERC requirements and internal compliance processes. This position may also support small compliance-related projects and process improvement initiatives.
Main Responsibilities
Develop a working knowledge of NERC Standards and their application to Deriva Energy’s operations.
Support NERC compliance activities across Deriva Energy’s projects and operational processes.
Assist in reviewing compliance documentation and evidence with guidance from compliance team members and SMEs.
Help prepare documentation and coordinate materials needed for NERC compliance audits or internal reviews.
Track compliance activities and help maintain organized compliance records and documentation.
Support the development and maintenance of compliance procedures, policies, and internal controls.
Assist with monitoring and reporting on the status of NERC compliance activities.
Help communicate compliance updates and requirements to internal stakeholders in a clear and accessible manner.
Support compliance training initiatives, including preparing materials and coordinating sessions.
Collaborate with internal teams, including IT, to support tools and systems used for compliance tracking and reporting.
Participate in addressing compliance questions and requests from internal teams.
Stay informed on NERC compliance updates through training, industry resources, and team collaboration.
Provide support for regulatory data requests and reporting related to NERC compliance.
Assist with small compliance-related projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, information technology, cyber security, or related field
One (1) year or more work experience in a relevant field
In lieu of bachelor's degree, high school diploma/GED AND five (5) years or more years of related work experience
Desired Qualifications
Master's degree in engineering, information technology, cyber security, or related field
Three (3) years or more work experience in a relevant field, coupled with an understanding of NERC compliance
Exceptional project management and multitasking abilities
Prior experience with generation related to NERC Compliance Standards
Demonstrated aptitude for fostering a culture of compliance within teams
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
Experience applying risk management frameworks is a plus
