Commissioning Specialist (O&G)

Status: Exempt (salaried)

Position Summary

The Commissioning Specialist is responsible for facilitating all commissioning, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting and inspection activities (Services) of Plug Power’s Oil & Gas equipment onshore as well offshore. This position will interact with the development, project, engineering and operations team, technology providers, suppliers, permitting agencies, contractors, vendors, stakeholders to ensure Servies are completed on time and within budget. To compliment field activities, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in commissioning and start-up planning, development of work instructions, P&ID reviews, commissioning walk-down inspections, equipment checklists, plans for cleaning / flushing and run in of equipment, Design Hazard Reviews (Pre-Safety Start-up Reviews), Operational Readiness Inspections and the execution of commissioning & start-up management systems.

Travel as required up to 100%.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervising construction activities performed by subcontractors for packages/modules or facilities at client site
  • Perform/supervise commissioning activities at subcontractor or client site
  • Perform/supervise start-up activities at client site
  • Supervising quality and progress of subcontractors
  • Supervising service work and guarantee work
  • Responsible for handover of equipment and facilities to the client
  • Secure working methods are in accordance with the Quality and Safety Management Systems
  • Ensuring compliance with Frames’ Quality and Health, Safety, and Environment management systems during construction, commissioning and start-up of facilities
  • Ensuring an adequate knowledge level is maintained in the field of expertise. Developing knowledge and skills to be able to address current and future project and market demands

Education and Experience

  • Three (3) or more years in Engineering, operations, commissioning, or maintenance of upstream Oil&Gas systems.
  • Technical Background in Mechanical and/or Electrical is a prΓ©
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Speech & written: Fluently in Portuguese and Business wise in English
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.
  • Strategic thinker with exceptional analytical skills.
  • Must be a team player with a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Must be driven and self-motivated.
  • Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality.
  • Ability to travel as needed to carry out duties of the position – up to 100%.
