QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicant must have a high school diploma or GED. A high degree of mechanical aptitude, knowledge of blueprint interpretation and mechanical maintenance procedures is preferred. Must pass the EEI CAST test and the Physical Abilities Test (PAT). Other general qualifications such as willingness to work split-shifts and weekends, physical fitness, attendance, safety and performance records will be considered.
Additional consideration will be given for the following job-related experience or training:
PRIMARY DUTIES: Inspecting, operating, installing, servicing and general maintenance to all buildings and associated equipment. Performs duties under limited supervision.
Performs such duties as:
1. Maintaining HVAC, plumbing and wiring systems;
2. Maintaining motors, switches, breakers, sockets, elements, condensers and fixtures as needed and required;
3. Repairing and replacing of pipes, valves, traps, lavatories, closets, drains, faucets, pumps, insulation, furniture, etc.;
4. Repairing and replacing facility gates, doors, hoists, locks, elevators, windows, ceiling, floors, walls and roofs as directed;
5. Overhauling air compressors, pumps, fans, motors, heat exchangers, condensers, injectors, tanks, etc.;
6. Repairing, maintaining and operating all equipment necessary for the efficient operation of the department;
7. Assisting in the installation of new equipment and furniture; and
8. Regulating all building systems necessary for the efficient operation of the department.
9. Coordinate contractor work and present safety training/orientation as required.
In addition to the primary duties listed above, the employee may be called upon to perform other work as circumstances require. Working nights and weekends may be necessary and being on-call.
