We’re seeking a dynamic Associate to help us expand our reach in the commercial and industrial (C&I) sectors. For candidates to succeed in this role, they must have intermediate excel skills day 1, with the ability to improve to advance through on-the-job training.


Key Responsibilities & Job Objectives:

  • Market Analysis: Monitor competitor pricing and offerings, gather relevant market information, and recommend strategic adjustments to stay competitive.
  • Forecasting & Pricing: Gather information to support forecasting and project pricing, contributing to accurate and strategic business planning.
  • Financial Modeling: Run high fidelity financial models to support sales team.
  • Treasury: Work with Accounting and Department heads to maintain cashflow forecast for NEE, ESS and Versiris. This includes preparing weekly debt draw requests and tracking payments milestones.
  • Corporate Finance: Prepare and maintain department level budget vs actual vs forecast. Consolidate department level data for consolidated company view and prepare variance analysis.
  • Corporate Modeling: Maintain the corporate model which presents the company’s ten-year plan.
  • Sales Presentations & Proposals: Assist in preparing compelling sales presentations.
  • Policy Analysis:  Collaborate with the Policy Team to identify and analyze state and local policies that will impact the economic viability of solar projects throughout the country. e.g. Net metering, or local property taxes.
  • Performance Tracking: Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams and provide regular updates to management through Salesforce pipeline reviews and performance analyses.
  • Contract Negotiation: Support contract negation as necessary including populating exhibits and key project details.
  • Client Research: Research prospective clients, points of contact, to support go-to-market tactics.
  • Relationship Building: Support long-term relationships with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Professional Development: Maintain and enhance professional knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing industry publications, and participating in conferences.
  • Team Collaboration: Support the team with related tasks and contribute to collective goals by accomplishing assigned duties and assisting with ad-hoc projects.


Education & Experience:

  • Education
    • College degree in business-related field such as finance, economics or accounting; or 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience:
    • Experience in the renewables industries, financial industry, or tech industry is a plus.
    • Working knowledge of the solar industry, including system design, construction, product knowledge, and regulatory requirements are all a plus.


Special Requirements:

  • High level of computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn various computer programs.
  • Experience with financial modeling a plus, fluency in Excel is required.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Personable with a client centric mindset.


Location & Work Environment:

  • The position can be based in Annapolis, MD, or Boulder, CO.
  • This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 2-3 full days in the office.

The expected annual compensation range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000, encompassing base pay and potential incentive target opportunity. This range is a good faith estimate based on the position's requirements. Specific compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary depending on factors such as relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, this position may qualify for a comprehensive benefits package, including Retirement Benefits, Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Account, Life Insurance and Disability, Tuition Reimbursement, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences, and more.
