Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of Asset Management of Renewables North America, the Asset Manager (Midwest/East) will be responsible for the financial and commercial management of Repsol Renewable North America utility-scale battery, wind and solar power projects located in MISO/PJM regions. The Asset Manager will support strategic initiatives that strengthen Repsol’s internal project execution model and support a high growth portfolio. The Asset Manager will work closely with Business Development, Origination, Construction, Performance Management, and Operations teams, build trusted relationships with financial partners, and provide coaching and mentoring to staff members.

Responsibilities:

  • Support staff responsible for the management of P&L and cash positions, ensuring that project budgets are developed with prudent assumptions for revenues, expenses, and capital expenditures.
  • Advance strategies to improve operational and financial performance, mitigate risks, and protect long-term value.
  • Interact with teams to respond to regulatory, policy or market changes that would adversely impact project economics.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support optimization and performance improvement, warranty claims, insurance claims, and revenue recovery.
  • Lead and support staff responsible for compliance with project and partnership agreements, ensuring that all obligations and interests are successfully administered within Asset Management or other teams.
  • Establish trusted relationships with landowners, customers, partners or joint asset owners and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage commercial issues and associated strategies to resolution with counterparties.
  • Develop and execute best practices and procedures for project commercial readiness and integration into Repsol’s mid and back-office functions.
  • Strengthen internal project execution model from early M&A and development stages through year 1 performance.
  • Cultivate an inclusive and empowered culture within the Asset Management team
  • Build trusted relationships with peers to improve coordination, communication, and teamwork.

  • Ability to read complex agreements to analyze and identify obligations and risk.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Word
  • Ability to program in python desired

Qualifications

  • Authorized to work in the USA for any employer without sponsorship.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field
  • MBA highly desirable
  • 5+ years of energy industry experience in a project development, project administration, project management, asset management, contract administration, deal execution, project finance or other commercial role
  • Prior experience establishing processes and systems to support high growth activities.
  • Experience working in renewable energy industry is required
