Position Overview
As an Analyst, Portfolio Finance, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance of covenants in finance documents for Invenergy’s international energy portfolio, supporting the Portfolio Finance team to keep stakeholders updated on the performance of the portfolio, developing and updating project financial models, and supporting transaction closings/fundings. You will work closely with other teams within Invenergy (across our global regional offices and our Headquarters in Chicago), including Asset Management, Financial Planning & Analysis, Operations, Engineering, and Legal as well as external stakeholders like project lenders and partners. This position is located at our Mexico City.
Responsibilities
Support compliance and funding obligations in construction loans, shareholder and partnership agreements, and other debt and/or equity financing documents, including management of borrowings, disbursements, consents, notices, and waivers to address emerging project matters
Maintain and update operating project finance models to ensure compliance with covenants, support budgeting or reporting processes, assess operational efficiency, cash flow, distributions, debt service coverage ratios, valuations or support transactions
Interpret and/or model of offtake agreements, shareholder and partnership agreements, equipment and service contracts, gas supply agreements, real estate documents, and other contracts to identify issues that may impact project level and corporate financing
Support the team with requests from lenders and equity partners
Perform financial analysis for new projects including financial modeling, due diligence and support negotiations of finance agreements.
Occasionally assist in due diligence processes for project finance, corporate finance and M&A transactions
Collaborate with company engineers, developers, accounting, tax, legal, etc. professionals as well as third party consultants when assisting in assigned transactions
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting or engineering
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in finance or banking
Demonstrated ability to develop complex financing models in Excel
Ability to learn quickly and work under limited supervision
Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possesses self-starter qualities with the ability to work collaboratively and by oneself
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment
Fluent in both Spanish and English
Preferred Skills
Experience with project or corporate finance debt or equity transactions
Experience in power generation, energy/utilities sector, or infrastructure
Familiarity in reading and interpreting financing and project agreements
