Job Description

A growing family office based in downtown Chicago is seeking a resourceful and versatile Accounting Associate to support accounting, operations, and investment functions of the office. In this dynamic atmosphere, all team members are given the opportunity to work on projects beyond this description, with demonstrated aptitude and work ethic.

Responsible for performing daily accounting operations including cash management, account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, creating journal entries, managing the companyโ€™s credit cards and payables, intracompany transactions and assisting in the preparation of financial statements.

The primary recurring tasks of this position are as follows:

  • Perform bookkeeping, check writing, and QuickBooks functions across 40 plus entities
  • Assist with monthly reconciliations, monthly reporting, and quarter close processes across 40 plus entities
  • Manage cash balances daily
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and help address potential issues
  • Prepare and maintain electronic workpapers
  • Review invoices and initiate approval processes
  • Downloading multiple account statements across several financial institutions
  • Track tax documentation and coordinate with tax preparers

Requirements include:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience with a bachelorโ€™s degree in accounting or finance or 7-10 years relevant experience in lieu of a bachelorโ€™s degree
  • Preference for accounting experience with multiple entities as well as both public and private investment accounting.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in data entry and maintaining accurate records
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Advanced EXCEL skills (I would be okay with strong skills)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented and well organized
  • Strong preference for experience with AVIDPAY, Homepay, RAMP or similar bill pay and credit card software
  • Experience with A/P and A/R between multiple entities
  • Self-motivated with high level of initiative
  • Highly proficient in time management, organization, planning, and prioritization

Base Pay

60,000 - 80,000 USD Annual

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
