We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director of Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) to lead our team in the development of renewable energy projects. As the Head of Engineering & Procurement, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our projects by overseeing various engineering aspects and ensuring the efficient implementation of technologies (Solar Energy, Batteries, Microgrids, Fuel Cells, and Generators). Your responsibilities will include front-end design, detailed engineering, cost assessment, value engineering, supply chain mapping and technology selection, support to finance, development and asset management teams, management of external consultants, bidding package preparation, supplier’s and contractor’s evaluation, supply chain relationship management, bidding process management, technical and commercial negotiations, drafting of supplier’s and contractor’s agreements, and construction management.
You will play a crucial role in building a team leading engineering, procurement and construction activities from development to construction phase.
What you get to do:
Lead a team of engineers in the front-end design and detailed engineering phases of renewable energy, mainly photovoltaic (PV) solar and Battery Storage Systems (BESS) power projects.
Collaborate with the Development and Finance teams to assess the cost of new technologies and their feasibility.
Conduct value engineering analysis on photovoltaic (PV) and BESS systems to optimize costs and increase energy yield.
Provide support to the Construction and Asset Management teams by addressing engineering-related issues and offering technical expertise.
Manage external technical consultants engaged in various project activities, ensuring their deliverables align with project requirements.
Prepare bidding packages and request for quotations (RFQs) to engage with potential contractors and suppliers.
Review and analyze invoices and quotes received from contractors, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contractual agreements.
Establish and maintain relationships with leading Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) companies in the renewable energy (solar and BESS) market.
Oversee the EPC bidding process, including analysis, evaluation, and selection of contractors based on technical and commercial criteria.
Conduct technical and commercial negotiations with EPC contractors to achieve favorable project outcomes.
Prepare the initial draft of EPC agreements and related exhibits, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual requirements.
Supervise construction activities via project managers, superintendents and field staff, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with design.
Hire and allocate responsibilities to subcontractors and internal teams.
Monitor resource needs (manpower, equipment, materials) and maintain inventory levels.
Identify project risks across schedule, permitting, supply chain, and constructability, and develop mitigation strategies.
Collaborate cross-functionally with development, finance, legal, engineering, and external parties (utilities, OEMs, contractors).
Maintain accurate project documentation including meeting minutes, daily reports, schedules, and financial trackers.
Provide senior leadership with comprehensive updates on project health, progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
Prepare turnover packages to transition projects from development to execution, and to operations seamlessly.
