Role Description:

The Project Designer role centers on strategically planning and executing it’s electric’s unique model of curbside charging infrastructure. The lifecycle the role is responsible for includes design, permitting, and construction management of deployments in it’s electric’s Northeast project areas, while also supporting deployments across the broader it’s electric deployment pipeline across the country, as needed.

Candidate Requirements:

We seek highly motivated candidates with background and expertise in architecture, urban planning, or closely related fields. Candidates should have examples of urban design and build projects (extra points if in urban rights-of-way) that have been physically built and are in use.  Experience deploying EV charging is not a requirement.

Strong candidates will have 2-5  years of relevant experience seeing projects through from concept to completion. 

Candidates should be comfortable using  digital design and drawing tools, such as  Illustrator orAutoCAD,and be familiar with building codes, zoning requirements, and urban design standards. Candidates will have experience working with trades and contractors during the construction and sign-off phases, and will be able to contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of project tracking and documentation tools and assets.

Role Requirements:

Candidates are expected to be highly organized and able to lead and advance projects with city officials as well as project stakeholders while fully managing the activities of company consultants and contractors. As such, parallel priorities of site visits; meetings with city permitting agencies, contractors; and supporting utility signoffs and coordination are required. Candidates will be expected to work with a high amount of autonomy, clarity, and precision.

Candidates must demonstrate the capacity to build and maintain productive, positive, and long-term relationships with stakeholders, while proactively and assertively tending the permitting, technical, and highly targeted project schedule.

The salary range for this role is $80K - $130K depending on years of experience.

Ideal candidates will be able to work in-person for four days and remotely for one day per week at it's electric's offices at Newlab in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Candidates are expected to travel to key project cities including Philadelphia, Boston, and Washington, D.C.
