Scout Clean Energy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Operations Intern to support documentation and improvement of internal processes and procedures within our procurement organization. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to learn how renewable energy projects are supported through efficient sourcing, contracting, purchasing, and supplier management practices. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys problem-solving, thrives in collaborative environments, and takes initiative to make meaningful process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document existing procurement processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and propose practical recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, Project Management, Finance) to ensure process clarity and consistency.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of process documentation libraries and training materials.
  • Assist with data collection and analysis to support decision-making in procurement operations.
  • Participate in team meetings, share insights, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. 
    • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Interest in process improvement and driving organizational change with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in delivery and results.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
    • Comfortable collaborating across departments in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or equivalent tools.
    • Interest in renewable energy and sustainability.
    • Authorized to work in the United States.

Required Education:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in a technical discipline such as: Industrial Engineering, Programing, Supply Chain, Economy, Business Management, Project Management, Physics, or Math.

 Timeline and Location 

  • This position will begin in May 2026. The internship will be a full-time (40 hr/week) commitment for the duration of the 12-week internship program. Our ideal candidate will be able to work out of our Boulder office during the duration of the internship program per the program requirements.

Compensation 

Hourly Rate: $25-30/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
