T1 Energy is bringing solar manufacturing back to the U.S. by building a domestic solar supply chain. Our mission is to invigorate America with scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy. Our fully operational 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas, can manufacture more than 20,000 modules every 24 hours. By the time you finish reading this paragraph, we will have produced two solar panels that will power American homes and fuel domestic AI. We're focused on building advanced American manufacturing and we're passionate about engineering a better future filled with abundant energy.
The Role
T1 Energy is looking to hire an Equipment Manager to lead equipment reliability and maintenance operations in a high-volume, 24/7 manufacturing environment supporting more than 300 pieces of production equipment and more than 100 employees. This role ensures maximum uptime, operational stability, and long-term asset performance while aligning with plant safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
This position requires a strong leader capable of building and developing high-performing teams across multiple shifts. The Equipment Manager will drive reliability strategy, structured maintenance systems, CMMS optimization, workforce planning, safety compliance (including LOTO governance), budget control, and continuous improvement initiatives to sustain operational excellence.
The ideal candidate combines strategic leadership with disciplined execution, fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, safety, and continuous improvement. This role partners closely with EHS, Production, Process Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure equipment capability supports plant capacity and long-term growth.
What You'll Do
Reliability Strategy & Asset Management
Develop and implement a comprehensive reliability strategy for 24/7 operations. Drive improvements in equipment uptime, lifecycle management, and long-term asset sustainability.
CMMS Leadership & Maintenance Planning
Own and optimize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Ensure accurate asset hierarchy, preventive maintenance scheduling, work order discipline, data integrity, and reporting accuracy. Use CMMS data to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
Maintenance Systems & Execution
Establish and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime. Standardize planning and scheduling processes to ensure high schedule compliance and accountability.
Safety & LOTO Governance
Champion a safety-first culture across all maintenance activities. Ensure full compliance with OSHA standards, including strong understanding and enforcement of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Lead periodic LOTO audits, training, and continuous improvement of energy control programs.
Team Leadership & Development
Recruit, mentor, and develop supervisors, planners, engineers, and technicians. Build organizational capability in reliability practices, maintenance planning, and safe work execution. Establish clear performance expectations and succession planning.
Performance Management & KPI Ownership
Own and report key performance indicators including OEE, downtime, MTBF, MTTR, maintenance cost, PM compliance, and work order backlog. Use structured root cause analysis and reliability tools to drive measurable improvement.
Budget & Cost Control
Develop and manage the maintenance operating budget. Control labor, spare parts, contractor services, and capital expenditures while ensuring equipment reliability and safety standards are maintained.
Spare Parts & Inventory Strategy
Establish a critical spare parts strategy aligned with production risk and asset criticality. Optimize inventory levels to balance reliability and working capital efficiency.
Capital Projects & Equipment Readiness
Support installation, ramp-up, and stabilization of new production lines and major upgrades. Ensure maintenance readiness through training, documentation, and CMMS integration.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to align equipment performance with operational targets and production planning.
