What We do

At Terabase Energy, we believe that digitalization, automation, and aerial intelligence will drive the next wave of innovation and cost reduction in large-scale solar. To fully unlock this potential, Terabase is developing an interconnected software and construction automation platform. Our Drone-in-a-Box program is a critical component in this vision, enabling continuous and autonomous data capture across solar sites worldwide.

We work alongside project developers, owners, and engineering & construction firms to support the design, optimization, and construction of massive solar projects. Our team is a blend of solar-industry veterans and newcomers, engineers, coders, product managers, drone specialists, and project managers. We are based in Northern California, with several other offices in the United States and around the world.

 • Coordinate across Operations, Data, and Product teams to ensure drone data pipelines are efficient and reliable.

• Perform & lead Drone deployments across multiple project sites and become a SME enabling seamless operations from equipment stand-up to demobilization.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding drone-in-a-box operations.
 • Support pre-deployment workshops and customer onboarding to ensure understanding of autonomous operations.
 • Provide regular reporting on system uptime, mission performance, fleet management & metrics, data quality, and value delivered through automated flights.
 • Translate customer feedback into operational improvements and product roadmap priorities.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure all autonomous flight operations comply with FAA Part 107, local aviation regulations, Terabase Operations waivers & policies, and site-specific safety requirements.
 • Develop and enforce risk mitigation strategies, including redundancy and failsafe protocols.
 • Partner with Legal & Compliance to review contracts, insurance, and liability coverage.

Team Coordination

• Oversee coordination with global pilot teams, ensuring remote monitoring and interventions are properly resourced.
 • Work with internal data analysts to align drone data delivery with project timelines and client expectations.
 • Mentor junior team members and support cross-training on automated drone operations.

Process Improvement & Scalability

• Identify bottlenecks in autonomous workflows and propose solutions for efficiency gains.
 • Lead structured reviews to capture lessons learned and standardize best practices across projects.
 • Support integration of drone-in-a-box data into project management and digital twin platforms.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aviation, business management, or related field.

• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
 • 5+ years’ experience in drone operations, aviation, or program management.

 • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Primavera.
 • Ability to travel up to 40% for site deployments, training, and vendor oversight.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in project management, aviation systems, or engineering.
 • Experience with drone-in-a-box systems (Percepto, DJI Dock, Skydio Dock, etc.).
 • Knowledge of solar PV site operations, photogrammetry, and geospatial data workflows.
