In this position... 

You’ll complete required and discretionary fuel economy testing to support U.S and Canadian environmental compliance reporting in Ford’s Environmental and Safety Compliance team. You’ll work with a diverse team of engineers and technologists to ensure that testing is completed on time and in compliance with all applicable regulations and policies. You’ll work in internal and external databases to ensure compliance.



Responsibilities

What you’ll do…

  • Support and execute test plans of select vehicle programs to address US/Canadian CAFE and GHG fleet reporting requirements.
  • Analyze existing vehicle fuel economy and emissions test data to support CAFE/GHG reporting and compliance submissions.
  • Prepare, review, and submit test documentation to EPA through EV-CIS.
  • Complete and maintain database system information supporting compliance reporting milestones.
  • Track and interpret evolving CAFE and other environmental regulations and assess impacts on current and future vehicle programs.
  • Develop and maintain internal compliance processes, procedures, documentation and tracking tools.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Fuel Economy Label Engineers, Certification Engineers, TRLHP Engineers and Marketing to align on TRLHP charts, calibration releases, weight charts and program-specific volume assumptions.
  • Support senior management review and internal governance processes related to fuel economy compliance.


Qualifications

You'll have...

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering or related engineering degree. 
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and competing priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong technical and oral communication skills, including proficiency in the English language (reading, writing and speaking).
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively through e-mail, telephone, Microsoft Teams, etc.

 

 

Even better, you may have...

  • Ability to communicate complex regulatory and technical information clearly.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and database management. 
  • Proficient in problem solving, automation and validation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to emissions/fuel economy testing and labeling preferred.
  • Familiarity with chassis dynamometer testing or fuel economy test procedures preferred.

This position is between a salary grade 5  to 8 and ranges from $63,480-162,120.

 

 

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
